Recognizing the divine call, Bishop Dr. A.G. Thankachan left the secular employment and went to a seminary for Bible Ministerial training and completed Bachelor of Theology, and Bachelor of Arts Degrees and entered into the ministry in January 1981. After ministering in Southern most State/province Kerala of India for two years in Bible Teaching, pioneering and Church planting shifted to the State of Andhra Pradesh in 1982 December with Glory Thankachan, Teaching in the Post Graduate school of a Seminary, traveling extensively in India ministering the word of God, continued the studies and completed Master of Arts and Masters in Theology. In 1987 completed Ph.D. in Religious Philosophy.
With clear vision and direction from God, established Pentecostal Fellowship Churches and College of Ministries in 1988. The work expanded into different states of India and according to the need established New Covenant Ministries and Welfare Society as the charitable arm of the ministry and St.Thomas Trust as the educational arm of the Ministry. In 2006 established Council of Charismatic Ministries [India] for building unity in the body of Christ among other missions and Ministries in India.
